Mayor Moral personally supervises repair of Tuganay River Protection dike

Mayor Lolita A. Moral initiates so much effort to address the flood problem in Braulio E. Dujali. Topmost priority during the first term of Moral Administration was the strengthening and rehabilitation of Tuganay River protection dike at Tanglaw and the Mag Creek protection dike at Cabayangan, this municipality. In order to have a direct source of mountain mix to be used for the strengthening of protection dikes, the Local Government Unit (LGU) through the initiative of Mayor Moral with the support of the Sangguniang Bayan purchased one (1) hectare of land in San Jose, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.
Recently, Mayor Moral requested the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) to issue a revocation order of all permits granted to every individual authorizing the manual disselting operation for commercial purposes within Tugany River because the said activity causes scouring and soil erosion which if left unattended may endanger the municipality again.
Mayor Moral urges the constituents especially the banana growers adjacent to that area to help hand in hand safeguarding the protection dike to prevent from flooding again. Idle lands before alongside the protection dike areas are now producing quality exportable bananas and other agricultural crops.
The lady mayor personally supervised for the repair of the protection dike. She never allows the flood to visit the municipality again.
